After graduating from the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in 2005, Jana Novotná worked for 10 years at the Horní Beřkovice Psychiatric Hospital, where she went through almost all departments as an attending physician-psychiatrist. She passed her certification in psychiatry in 2011, and her "regular" workplace became the addiction treatment department for several years. In this field, she continued as a psychiatrist in the specialized clinic of the non-governmental non-profit organization Sananim, where she treated clients with so-called dual diagnoses of associated or chronic psychological problems (especially anxiety and depressive states) and substitution treatment of opiate addiction.
In the years 2007-2011, she underwent training in Gestalt psychotherapy at the Dialog Institute in Brno, followed by further training in the same direction in the years 2016-2019. In her work, she combines pharmacotherapy and non-pharmacological therapeutic procedures, and is close to a holistic view of human health. Her effort is to support the client to actively search for "his" path to greater life freedom and satisfaction.
