Zbyněk graduated Pharmacy and Addictology at the Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové (Charles University in Prague) and at the 1s Faculty of Medicine (Charles University in Prague). He completed his postgraduate studies in the fields of Organic Chemistry and Pharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Charles University, and at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Brno.

He gained a specialization in the field of Laboratory and Examination Methods in Health Care and has long been specializing in the field of Clinical Pharmacy at the Institute of Postgraduate Education in Health Care. He holds S4 Special Competence in Addictology.

He works as a pharmacist – specialist, clinical pharmacist and toxicologist, addictologist, researcher and university lecturer. He engages in clinical pharmacology in the field of addictology, psychiatry and hepatology and clinical addictology. His research focuses on substitution treatment of methamphetamine dependence and modern treatment of viral hepatitis.

He comes from a traditional family of doctors, and he is married. His hobbies include self-education, reading (his favorite author is Umberto Eco), listening to classical music and metal. He engages actively in extreme sports, especially extreme skiing, mountaineering and bouldering. In the past, he focused on combat sports and various combat and self-defense systems.
