Mgr., MgA. Markéta Miláčková Čermáková

Markéta Miláčková Čermáková is a therapist with many talents and interests. After graduating from a prestigious specialty high school for young mathematicians, she attended the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts in Brno to study dramatic directing.  From there, she went on to study psychology and special education at Charles University. After graduating from Charles University, Markéta started her work in the field of addictology (the study of addiction) as a lecturer in primary prevention programs; and, later, she began focusing on working within the field of therapy to treat addiction, including by treating clients of outpatients services and participants in substance substitution programs and in programs for families with psychological care needs. 

Markéta believes in lifelong development. She has continued her own educational experiences not only through years of self-experience training in Gestalt therapy (which focuses on the present moment), but also in annual continuing education courses in the areas of family counselling and crisis intervention as well as other educational areas (e.g., music therapy, program for improving children’s attention, program for developing coping strategies for young children) and professional conferences. Most recently, Markéta completed an accredited course in hypnotherapy. She is  an active member of the Czech Association for Psychotherapy (CAP).

Markéta has been engaged in the practice of psychotherapy for more than 15 years.  During that period, she has acquired years of experience in providing group and individual therapy to adults, adolescents and children. She has also been involved in adult education for many years and is the author and co-author of a number of scholarly articles, including a brochure (in the Czech language) for adults with ADHD/ADD at Nepozornidospeli.cz.
