Jakub graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the Charles University in Pilsen, majoring in general medicine. He obtained a professional qualification in the field of psychiatry, completed the self-experience part of the training in psychoanalytic group psychotherapy and a course in clinical hypnosis and acupuncture. He is a member of the Psychiatric Society and the Society for Addictive Diseases (SNN) under the Czech Medical Society of Jan Evangelista Purkyně (ČLS JEP). For many years, he worked in the non-profit sector as a psychiatrist, team leader or senior physician. For the past few years, Jakub has been working at the Addiction Clinic of VFN and teaches clinical addiction at I.LF UK. He has devoted his entire professional career to the treatment of drug users and has many years of psychotherapeutic work with these clients. For the past 15 years or so, Jakub has focused mainly on pharmacotherapy. He is interested in substitution treatment, including methamphetamine substitution.
