Ondřej Knybel studied theoretical sociology at the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University. He worked in the non-profit sector. But it wasn't until studying meditation in the Northern Thai tradition of Ajahn Tong that it gave his life perspective and a solid framework for his practice.
"I have always been fascinated by the complexity of life situations. Perhaps it was my personal experience, which showed the complexity of life often very emphatically, that led me to stop using evasive maneuvers as a solution to problems and start to face them head-on more often."
He traveled all his life, rock climbed, was fascinated by yoga and traditional karate. He meditated under the guidance of Jonathan Preboy and Anna Scharfenberg at the Tisaran center in Prague, and the excellent results soon led him to believe that he should continue to meditate.
Since the founding of the NEO Center, he has substituted for his teachers in meditation lessons here, and since 2020 he has been teaching regularly at Clinic 1.
He helps with the operation of the Tisarana Vipassana meditation center in Prague and teaches vipassana meditation at Clinic 1.
