The very topic of green widows is currently becoming topical, especially in the growing suburbanization of Czech cities, and even in the field of addictionology and psychology, where, however, there is a lack of appropriately described professional literature or conducted research, as well as adequate addictionological or psychological care, where these women are often feel stigmatized by the use of addictive substances. That is why the addiction specialist of the Neo Center chose this phenomenon for research. Risk factors that can threaten "green widows" are the already mentioned overuse of drugs or alcohol, but also feelings of loneliness, isolation from the environment, infidelity or the abandoned nest syndrome. Psychological problems can be added to these factors.
