Divorce and separation

Each of us is different, but we all need personal bonds and relationships. Throughout our life, we develop all sorts of social ties. Our relationship partners, in particular, can take a pre-dominant role in our life. They can throw a reflective light onto our past (e.g., upbringing), as well as on our previous relationship patterns, and at the same time they can also significantly characterize our present state of being.

Relationships are comprised of a unique combination of the energies of the specific people in the relationship. Of course it is only natural that coexistence in a partnership does not always work harmoniously.

Break-ups, for better or for worse, weigh not only on the splitting partners, but often also on those around them, especially on their children--if there are children. If the partners decide to go their separate ways, there are a number of painful steps in the process of separating that can affect everyone differently. Strong emotional shock can limit our ability to work with emotions and thoughts, resulting in energy loss or even depression.

When does it make sense to seek professional help in the midst of a separation or divorce?

  • Are you in the aftermath of a relationship and feeling unable to function in your daily life?
  • Even a few months or years after the end of the relationship, do you feel as though the pain of its ending has not diminished or has even intensified?
  • Do you feel that disappointment or grief over the death of a relationship prevents you from starting a new relationship?
  • Do you experience physical troubles that you did not suffer with before (e.g., difficulty sleeping, changed eating habits, weight loss or gain)?
  • Is it still difficult for you to understand why a relationship ended, and thoughts about it keep coming back to you?
  • Do you feel sad about your relationship loss and want someone to hear you and help you with your feelings about it?

If you have answered positively to any of the questions, please do not hesitate to contact us for a consultation.
