Anxiety

Anxiety is a widespread psychological difficulty that can significantly affect the sufferers' quality of life. It is a psychologically and physically demanding condition that is characterised by fear and excessive worry, caused by stress and stressful thoughts.

High-quality specialist care can help a person alleviate their anxiety-related symptoms effectively.

Feelings of anxiety vary and may come and go without a clear reason. However, these feelings of anxiety can, in turn, lead to behaviors that further fuel the anxiety, until one feels caught in a seemingly endless cycle.

When stressful thoughts trigger feelings of anxiety, one can be prevented from functioning fully in one’s daily life.  Anxiety is very often accompanied by other symptoms of a physiological nature (e.g., muscle tension, headaches, a rapid pulse, excessive sweating, chest pain, indigestion).

How to recognize a problem with Anxiety?

  • Do you have bothersome stressful thoughts?
  • Do you worry about the Future, linking it with “catastrophic” scenarios?
  • Do you worry about possible misfortunes occurring?
  • Do you have trouble falling asleep or is your sleep restless and interrupted by frequent awakening?
  • Do you feel restless and tense?
  • Do you have feelings of malaise, tiredness or feeling faint?
  • Do you feel tingling or pins and needles without an obvious cause?
  • Do you feel the urge to visit the toilet more often?
  • Do you have problems with concentration?
  • Do you avoid socializing or certain activities?

If you have answered a combination of these questions in the affirmative, you are likely to be experiencing Anxiety. For further assessment, please seek professional help.

Did you know?

Anxiety is generally subject to some typical prejudices. You may have encountered the opinion that it is “only fear”, so all you need to do is just “stop being afraid–because nothing will happen.” In reality, Anxiety is a very complex condition that may not have a clear cause or trigger and is certainly not something that the anxiety sufferer has caused. It is essential to understand that a person suffering from anxiety is not weak or incapable. On the contrary, finding workable solutions to overcome such a problem requires tremendous courage and persistence.
